SZ to host thematic forum for World Youth Development Forum

Shenzhen will host the Thematic Forum for Youth Development-oriented Cities, a sideline event of the 2023 World Youth Development Forum, from Oct. 31 to Nov. 1, to share knowledge and best practice on youth development.

The 2023 World Youth Development Forum, which will open in Beijing on Oct. 30, will have four thematic forums, and the one that is going to take place in Shenzhen will have the theme “Coordinated Development of Youth and the City.”

Officials of UN-Habitat and international youth organizations, as well as youth leaders from all walks of life will join the forum online or offline to hold discussions with representatives of Chinese organizations and youth development cities.

During the forum, an exhibition will be held to showcase exchanges between youth development cities as well as achievements made by these cities. The forum’s official miniprogram “青城论坛” (Qingcheng Forum) has been officially launched, and readers can participate in the forum through the miniprogram.

TheWorld Youth Development Forum, initiated by the All-China Youth Federation, has created a platform for dialogues among international organizations, governments, youth organizations, young leaders, and all sectors of society, in order to advocate for prioritizing youth development and to promote the joint implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Global Development Initiative.

President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the World Youth Development Forum in July 2022, saying “the forum will become an important platform where young people worldwide can contribute to global development and global efforts are gathered to promote youth development.”
