Experts share insights on Sino-German physics meeting

The Sino-German Symposium on Physics and the 32nd GCPD Annual Meeting took place in Pingshan District from Nov. 18 to 19, attracting academicians and scholars from China and Germany who shared their insights on basic and advanced physics.

The event brought together 15 distinguished academicians from China and Germany, as well as young scholars from nearly 50 higher education institutions, research institutions, and leading tech companies. Additionally, around 200 leaders and representatives from Pingshan attended the meeting.

The event was jointly organized by the Society of Chinese Physicists in Germany (GCPD), Shenzhen Technology University, and Pingshan’s government departments.

Themed “Semiconductor Materials and Advanced Optoelectronic Technology,” the meeting featured academic reports by the academicians, presentations by young scholars, an introduction to investing in Pingshan District, and organized visits to Shenzhen Technology University and companies in Pingshan, including BYD and O-Net Technologies. These activities aimed to foster international communication among talented individuals in technology, thereby accelerating innovation and boosting Pingshan’s industrial development.

One of the highlights was an exchange meeting held at Shenzhen Talent Institute East Campus on Nov. 18, where experts engaged in discussions on basic and advanced research in physics. Seven experts presented on topics such as micro-robots and green internet.

The meeting continued Nov. 19 with two parallel forums focusing on optics and photoelectronics, as well as semiconductor materials. Nearly 30 experts and scholars shared their insights and engaged in exchanges during these forums.

In celebration of Shenzhen Talent Day on Nov. 1, Pingshan District organized a series of events, including the meeting, a job fair, the First Talent Maluan Sportsmanship Campaign of Overseas Elite Universities, and other activities.
