Intl. communication forum sheds light on GBA storytelling

The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Shenzhen) International Communication Forum 2023 was held in Shenzhen University (SZU) yesterday.

More than 20 well-known experts, scholars and representatives from universities’ communication schools and media outlets in the country conducted in-depth discussions under the themes of telling stories about the GBA and about modern China.

Zhang Ling, a member of the Standing Committee of the Shenzhen Municipal Committee of the CPC and head of the Publicity Department of the Shenzhen Municipal Committee of the CPC, said in her presentation that Shenzhen, positioned as the core engine of the GBA, has the conditions and responsibility to strengthen its international communication capacity.

She hopes that SZU will further improve its level of academic research and talent cultivation in the field of international communication to empower the city’s international communication capacity.

Li Qingquan, Party secretary of SZU, said that SZU has always unswervingly pursued to improve its internationalization, adding that SZU will continue to contribute to building international communication, give full play to the unique geographical advantages of the university, and cultivate more high-quality and international talent.

The forum spotlighted various aspects of international communication such as related theories, innovation, practices and breakthroughs. At the forum, SZU and China Daily also signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement.

The forum, now an annual brand forum of the School of Media and Communication of SZU, was first held in November last year.
