Yulong Park: A hidden gem amidst urban hustle

Writer:   |  Editor: Zhang Zeling  |  From:   |  Updated: 2024-04-12

Nestled within the vibrant Longhua District lies Yulong Park, a small yet exquisite sanctuary that features the architectural design of the ancient Jiangnan style.

Wandering along the meandering flower-lined pathways of the park leads visitors to a romantic expanse of bougainvillea. Spanning approximately 2,740 square meters, this floral paradise adorns the hillside with a rich tapestry of colors — from the delicate hues of small-leaved purple bougainvillea to the vibrant shades of Brazilian Bougainvillea and Bougainvillea Glabra, creating a picturesque scene akin to a meticulously crafted spring painting by nature.

Located in Minzhi Subdistrict, Yulong Park is nestled between Yulong Road North and Jinlong Road, covering a sprawling area of about 50,200 square meters. Rooted in an osmanthus-themed concept and designed with Jiangnan-style garden aesthetics, the park is a harmonious blend of ecological mountain forests and six distinct osmanthus-themed zones, each with its allure.

Catering to both landscape aesthetics and recreational needs, Yulong Park boasts a well-planned greenway and recreational loop, offering fitness and leisure opportunities for local residents. Strategically placed rest areas along the pathways provide perfect spots for moments of pause, enjoyment, and engagement with the natural surroundings.

Captured through the lens of Shenzhen Daily photographer Lin Jianping, the photos in this edition offer a glimpse into the beauty of this niche park in the vibrant spring season.
