The Unfold 2025 Shenzhen Art Design Fair will return to the Sea World Culture and Arts Center this week, featuring over 130 exhibitors from nearly 40 cities.

The fair will showcase prints and illustrations from such studios and artists as Emi Yokogoshi and Yukihiro Tada from Japan, books from publishing houses including Hong Kong’s Islanders and Dotdotdot, graphic designs from studios like Seoul’s Leslie_ Design, and photographic works from studios like Tokyo’s Hikita Chisato.

Shanghai’s bookstore Bananafish, curator of the fair, along with five other bookstores, will also present their stocks.

A special presence will be a selection of 60 “most beautiful” books published between 2021 and 2024, which won the VOLUMES Award. VOLUMES is a nonprofit created in 2013 in Zürich, Switzerland that organizes book fair events, which showcase the production of independent publishers and as self-editing artists.

Another highlight is artist David Horvitz’s “How to Shoplift Books,” which offers 80 humorous pieces of advice and translated into more than 30 languages. Readers will find the book in all these languages at the fair.

The event also features 20 lectures and eight workshops, where artists share their personal stories and insight on art, design and books.
