What’s the best thing to beat the heat in summer? The answer is ice cream. Recently an ice cream, called Zhongjie 1946, has been going viral on Shenzhener’s WeChat. The price of the ice cream can be as high as 28 yuan (US$4.05), so it is called the Hermès of the ice cream world.

Originating on Zhongjie Road in Shenyang, Northeast China’s Liaoning province, the ice cream dates back to 1946, hence the name Zhongjie 1946.
Last year, the brand opened branches in Shanghai and Hangzhou and were greeted with long queues every day. On May 9, people in Shenzhen will also be able grab a bite of the famous ice cream at Coastal City.

Zhongjie 1946 offers eight flavors, namely Belgian Chocolate Stick, Asian Chocolate Stick, Chinese Original Stick, Chinese Badam Milk Stick, Legendary Amarena Cherry Stick, Chinese Sesame & Peanut Stick, Milk & Chocolate Stick and Matcha & Milk Stick. All of the sticks contain only milk, cream, sugar, fat-free milk powder, condensed milk, eggs, macadamia nuts and badam nuts.
