“Beyond the Sea: International Contemporary Art Exhibition,” a new exhibition featuring paintings, installations and photographic works by 28 artists, is being held at E Museum of Contemporary Art.
中国当代艺术，有待于从南方出发，而深圳作为珠三角连接粤、港、澳国际化大湾区地带和文化交流的桥头堡，既可以连接内地与香港，也可以把整个西方艺术引入，同时还可以把中国的当代艺术传播出去。当代艺术的国际性，以海洋的开放性为特征，本次《天外天》展览的作品，在深圳e当代美术馆举办，并特意邀请几位深圳当地最为具有代表性的艺术家参展，更为体现出地方性与国际性结合的新视野与新方向。
The 28 artists are Georg Baselitz, Daniel Richter, Jay Meuser, Enrico Bach, Hiroshi Sugimoto, Harry Callahan, Lisette Model, Elliott Erwitt, Jerry Uelsmann, Mary Ellen Mark, Nino Migliori, Riet van der Linden, Alfred Stieglitz, Wynn Bullock, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Luo Zhongli, Zhou Chunya, Liang Shaoji, Liang Quan, Ye Yongqing, Miao Xiaochun, Li Di, Zhou Li, Xue Feng, Sang Huoyao, Tian Wei, Yu Yang and Qin Wan.
German painter Baselitz is seen as a revolutionary artist as he draws the viewer’s attention to his works by making them think and sparking their interest. Throughout his career, Baselitz has varied his style, ranging from layering to focusing on greater lucidity and smooth changes.

Chinese artist Luo imbues his artistic conception with folk aestheticism which forms a vocabulary of painting that is both distinct and unique to him. In more than 40 years of artistic creation, his art has consistently centered on the eternal themes of the reality of human nature and love.
The exhibition is also showcasing classic photos by late masters including Cartier-Bresson, Model, Bullock, Callahan and Stieglitz. Cartier-Bresson was a humanist photographer considered a master of candid photography, and an early user of 35 mm film. He pioneered the genre of street photography, and conceived of photography as capturing a decisive moment. His work has influenced many photographers.
Bullock’s work is included in over 90 major museum collections around the world. He published numerous books and is mentioned in all of the standard histories of modern photography.
