Richter’s “The Four Seasons,” which was recorded in the 2012 album “Recomposed by Max Richter: Vivaldi — The Four Seasons,” is a complete recomposition and reinterpretation of Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons” published in 1725.

Although Richter said he had discarded most of Vivaldi’s original material, the parts he does use are phased and looped, emphasizing his grounding in postmodern and minimalist music. “Recomposed by Max Richter: Vivaldi — The Four Seasons” received widespread acclaim from contemporary classical music critics. The album topped the iTunes classical chart in Britain, Germany and the United States.

The album was played by Hope and the Konzerthaus Kammerorchester Berlin symphony orchestra. At the Shenzhen Concert, Hope will collaborate with Zurich Chamber Orchestra.

In 2011 Hope was appointed visiting professor in violin by the Royal Academy of Music, where he gained a diploma and a fellowship. Hope became the music director of the Zurich Chamber Orchestra in 2016.

On March 16, 2018, at the conclusion of a joint performance by the Zurich Chamber Orchestra and New Century Chamber Orchestra at which he served as concertmaster, Hope was announced as the latter ensemble’s new music and artistic director.

Hope plays the 1737 Guarneri “ex-Lipinski” violin. He has recorded commercially for Deutsche Grammophon.
