A futuristic exhibition center at Qianhai Kerry Center was opened to registrants at a launch ceremony Wednesday, aiming to present a new type of office space and lifestyle to those who plan to relocate to Qianhai, the soon-to-be financial hub of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).

Located on the 29th floor of the T1 building of Phase I of Qianhai Kerry Center, the exhibition center includes various areas featuring multi-media, fitness and office facilities, co-working spaces and an indoor garden utilizing advanced technologies, which can be used by the tenants and are designed to give visitors a view of the future co-working area.

According to James von Klemperer, president and design principal of Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates (KPF) — the American architecture firm that designed the Kerry project — the complex is expected to bring a new concept of urbanism to Qianhai in addition to its forward-looking working spaces.

“We want to create a social mixing chamber of multi-functions, make people close to the nature, give priority to pedestrians and present the beauty of architecture to local residents,” said Klemperer at the ceremony Wednesday. “We make efforts to make sure residents can have a beautiful place to live, to meet, rest with plants surrounding and realize everyday convenience. We aim to build a Rockefeller Center-like area for people, where they can enjoy life and even watch a show or attend a concert outdoors.”

Zhao Fuli, vice chairperson of Kerry Development (China) Ltd., said Kerry is confident in the future of Qianhai and will construct an international eco-complex for Qianhai.

Facing the coastline and built using the Hong Kong construction mode, Qianhai Kerry Center is situated in the heart of Qianhaiwan next to Qianhai Stone Park. The complex is being developed in three phases, including office buildings, apartments, commercial areas and a hotel.
