Huanggang Checkpoint to cease cross-border freight vehicle clearance from Dec. 21

Huanggang Checkpoint in Futian District will stop providing cross-border freight vehicle clearance services starting at 12 a.m. on Dec. 21, 2025, Shenzhen and Hong Kong authorities announced.

The move is intended to accelerate the implementation of the cross-border transport strategy of “east-in, east-out; west-in, west-out,” and speed up a functional adjustment at Huanggang checkpoint and optimize the layout of land border-crossings.
With the change taking effect on Dec. 21, cross-border freight vehicles will be redirected to Shenzhen Bay, Liantang and Wenjindu checkpoints for clearance. The notice advises logistics operators and drivers to use those checkpoints from the date of the announcement onward and to make necessary arrangements to minimize disruption.
