Shenzhen traffic authorities have reissued a three-year motorcycle prohibition notice that bans motorcycles across the city around the clock, except on a limited number of designated roads.

According to the newly released notice from the Shenzhen Municipal Public Security Bureau Traffic Management Bureau, motorcycles — including two-wheel motorcycles, standard three-wheelers and sidecar three-wheelers — are prohibited from operating at all hours on streets in Futian, Luohu, Nanshan, Yantian, Bao'an, Longgang, Longhua, Pingshan and Guangming districts, with two specific route exceptions: National Highway 107 (G107, from the Dongguan–Shenzhen boundary in the north to Xinqiao Interchange in the south) and Pingshan Avenue (from the Huishen boundary in the east to Baishi Road in the west).

In Dapeng, the ban applies around the clock on all roads except for the following: Pingxi Road, Pengfei Road, Kuipeng Road, Nanxi Road, Haibin Road, Tongfu Road, Pingkui Road and Yankui Road.

The notice also lists exemptions. Motorcycles used for municipal public facility emergency repairs, police patrol motorcycles, motorized wheelchairs for disabled people that have been filed with the Shenzhen Disabled Persons’ Federation, and motorcycles that are registered and managed under special-industry regulations are not subject to the prohibition.

The renewed ban takes effect on Jan. 1, 2026, and will remain in force through Dec. 31, 2028.
