According to the notice, border-crossing services at the Shenzhen Bay Checkpoint on Dec. 31 will remain open until 6:30 a.m. the following day, while operations at Luohu Checkpoint will be extended to 2 a.m. Jan. 1.

In addition, dual license plates vehicles that have been authorized to use Huanggang, Shenzhen Bay, Wenjindu, Liantang and Shatoujiao checkpoints can cross the border at the Shenzhen Bay Checkpoint between 12 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. on Jan. 1.

The temporary changes are intended to facilitate smoother passenger flows during the holiday period and to reduce congestion at peak times. The port office authority urged travelers to monitor the operating status of the Hong Kong MTR East Rail Line and the checkpoints, plan journeys in advance, and avoid peak crossing periods where possible.

Travelers were also reminded to choose appropriate checkpoints and crossing times, and to check the validity of their travel documents before departure to avoid delays caused by documentation issues.

Passengers are advised to check official channel updates and local transport notices for any further changes or service advisories ahead of New Year’s travel.
