Effective today, the minimum age for permanent residents of Hong Kong and Macao to use each other’s self-service immigration channels has been lowered from 11 to 7. Also effective today, eligible non-permanent residents aged 18 or over in both cities may pre-register at local self-service kiosks. Once successfully registered, they will be able to use the counterpart’s self-service channels for entry and exit approximately three hours after registration.
