The Shenzhen Airport Macao Outer Harbor City Terminal, the airport’s first city terminal in Macao, officially began operations on Feb. 3, offering a new convenient cross-border travel option for residents and visitors between Shenzhen and Macao and improving connections for Macao residents traveling north and transferring to flights.
Located at the Macao Outer Harbor Ferry Terminal on the Macao Peninsula, the city terminal operates daily from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with three ferry departures each day. Passengers can take a ferry to the Shenzhen airport, complete check-in procedures at the terminal, and enjoy seamless transfer and boarding services.
The terminal sits next to Macao Fisherman’s Wharf and the Macao Museum and is about a 10-minute drive from landmarks such as the Ruins of St. Paul’s and Macao Tower. Dedicated shuttle services have been launched from several popular Macao attractions to the terminal, enabling travelers to explore Macao before taking a ferry to Shenzhen for their flights. Likewise, passengers from the Shenzhen airport can use the terminal’s transport links to reach Macao attractions quickly, showcasing the integration of aviation and tourism and reinforcing the “one-hour living circle” within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).
Cross-border exchanges between Shenzhen and Macao have remained strong. In 2025, roughly 200,000 Macao residents traveled via the Shenzhen airport, a year-on-year increase of 17%, underlining the GBA’s growing connectivity. The Shenzhen airport’s network of more than 130 domestic destinations and frequent services continue to meet the travel needs of Macao residents. Currently, up to 10 daily cross-border ferry sailings operate between the Shenzhen airport and Macao.
The Shenzhen airport now operates city terminals across the GBA, including locations in Hong Kong, Huizhou, Zhuhai, Dongguan, Zhongshan and Jiangmen.
