The Sustainable Finance Institute (SFI) is inviting full-time undergraduate or graduate students from leading universities across the globe to participate in the Sustainable Finance: Global Case Challenge (SF/GCC), which aims to develop the next generations of leading practitioners in sustainable finance, impact investing and related technology.

The invitation was sent by Huang Zhong, executive director of SFI, yesterday afternoon during the 2019 Conference on Sustainable Finance, which is being held at Peking University HSBC Business School (PHBS) in Nanshan District. The two-day event will conclude today.

SFI was founded in March 2017 by prestigious professors from top universities such as Yale and Brown University as well as leading financial institutions from Wall Street and beyond.

At the launch ceremony of the case challenge, Huang said the competition will serve as a platform for global student teams to build their own solutions through innovation in investment strategy, provide students with high-quality internship and job opportunities, and create a positive impact for regions, organizations and policymakers alongside win-win financial outcomes.

According to Huang, the participants should sign up as a team of four, and each member must be at least 18 years old and studying at the bachelor’s degree level or above. Huang added that each university can only enter one team.

According to Huang, the top three teams will receive cash rewards. All of the winning teams will be offered internship, pre-internship program or internship final-round interview opportunities from sponsor organizations as well as scholarships from SFI’s global education program.

Winners will also enjoy benefits like professional experience with mentors, live project investigation and significant networking opportunities during and after the competition.

Interested universities and students can apply to SF/GCC at http://sfini.org/SFGCC starting March 15 and until March 31.

The first-round winners will be announced May 15. The final round of the competition will be held in New York.
