With 172 fast charging poles for electric vehicles (EVs) put into operation recently, Shenzhen Minle EV Charging Station has become the largest of its kind in the world with a total of 637 charging poles.
The Minle charging station is right beside the Minle Metro Station in Longhua District and it is operated by three companies, including China Southern Power Grid.
The distribution capacity of the Minle charging station has reached 16,884 kilowatts, and the average charging power can reach 160,000 kwh per day, which can charge 5,000 cars.
Additionally, 70 new 60-kilowatt direct-current charging poles utilize constant power charging modules, which can satisfy the needs of any type of electric car module.
“These constant power charging modules are about 20 to 30 percent more efficient than the nonconstant power charging modules,” said Chen Haozhou, vice director of CSPG Electric Vehicle Service Co. Ltd., a co-operator of the Minle station. Moreover, the Minle station is also one of the cheapest. “We are usually 20 to 30 percent cheaper than the other private charging stations in Shenzhen during high traffic periods,” said Chen.
According to CSPG, the Minle station has an average of 45 percent occupancy for every charging pole.
The high occupancy, on the one hand, can relieve difficulty for EVs lining up or finding charging poles. On the other hand, it reduces the carbon footprint by 44,560 kg per day. Every driver who goes to the Minle station leaves great comments like, “adequate amount of charging poles,” “cheap price,” “stable current” and “good management.”
The service platform of CSPG currently has 296,000 registered users, and it has installed 94,800 charging poles.
