Shenzhen technology firms are showcasing their latest high-tech products at the BEYOND International Technology Innovation Expo at the Venetian Macao Convention and Exhibition Center from Thursday to Saturday.

Macao Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng and former Chief Executive Ho Hau Wah attended the opening ceremony Thursday. Chinese top respiratory expert Zhong Nanshan also delivered a keynote speech via video at the ceremony.

Shenzhen-headquartered tech giant Huawei demonstrated its state-of-the-art products and solutions in 5G applications, urban digitization and smart life.

Huawei and CTM (Companhia de Telecomunicações de Macau), Macao’s leading telecom company, signed a cloud strategic agreement to support and participate in the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Guangdong-Macao in-depth cooperation zone in Hengqin.

Both firms will extend collaboration in cloud service and smart city, and promote intelligent applications and Internet of Things with advanced technologies such as 5G, cloud hub, AI and big data.

Huawei also signed a strategic talent training cooperation project with Macao Productivity and Technology Transfer Center. Both parties agreed to lead the development of digital transformation in Macao and assist in ICT talent cultivation.

Shenzhen’s integrated health care solutions provider BGI displayed its Huo-Yan Lab model, real-time fluorescent RT-PCR kit for detecting COVID-19 and some other medical products at the expo.

“Our detection kits have very high performance and can detect all current COVID-19 mutations including Alpha, Beta, Gamma and Delta variants. As for Omicron, we have made assessments and it could also be detected,” Zhang Tianlang, product manager of BGI, said.

Shenzhen Immotor Technology Co. Ltd., a national high-tech enterprise and a leading player in green energy network for electric vehicles, brought its latest battery replacement solution for e-bike battery rental to the expo.

According to Waley Wang, Immotor’s branding manager, the four-slot battery rental and replacement locker is highly flexible and can be applied in various scenarios.

“A user-friendly design ensures simple operation and quick battery replacement, and the locker is equipped with multi-level protection to ensure charging safety,” said Wang, adding that the locker had been put into use in over 60 Chinese cities as of December 2020.

The expo, hosted by Macao Technology General Association, has gathered about 300 high-tech companies from around the world.
