40 SZ private firms among Guangdong’s top 100

A total of 40 Shenzhen private enterprises were ranked among Guangdong Province’s top 100 private enterprises in 2021, with overall revenues accounting for 60% of the top 100 private enterprises’ total revenues, Nanfang Plus reported Thursday.

Shenzhen’s Huawei, Amer International Group and Tencent were crowned the top three private enterprises in Guangdong. The city also had four companies in the top five, six in the top 10 and 12 in the top 20.

In 2020, 40 Shenzhen companies made the list, and altogether generated a total of 4.3 trillion yuan (US$643.71 billion) in revenue. The overall revenues of the top 100 companies totaled 7.25 trillion yuan.

Eleven of the 40 Shenzhen private enterprises are from the computer, communications and electronic product manufacturing sector.

Four are from the real estate industry, and another four are in the business services sector.

The 2021 rankings of Guangdong’s top 100 private enterprises were conducted and released by the Guangdong Federation of Industry and Commerce, which took into account enterprises’ operating income in 2020 and their annual fiscal statement.

The revenue threshold for enterprises to enter the rankings has been lifted year by year, according to the report. In 2021, the revenue threshold increased from 11.14 billion yuan in the previous year to 12.06 billion yuan, an increase of 920 million yuan and a growth of 8.26%.

The top 100 private enterprises in Guangdong included 40 from Shenzhen, 28 from Guangzhou, 15 from Foshan, four from Dongguan, three from Maoming, two from Zhuhai and Zhongshan each, and one from Huizhou, Jiangmen, Shantou, Shanwei, Zhanjiang and Yunfu each.
