SZ to see 23 shopping malls open in next six months

Shenzhen is expected to see 23 new shopping centers with a total commercial space of over 1.6 million square meters open in the second half of this year, according to the real estate information portal winshang.com.

The new projects cover seven major districts, including four in Luohu District, one in Futian CBD and five in Nanshan District. There are 11 new malls moving into Bao’an, Longgang and Longhua districts, while Guangming District will welcome two more projects after Logan Mira Land Mall opened last year.

The 23 projects consist of seven small and medium-sized shopping malls, with sizes ranging from 30,000 to 50,000 square meters, six plazas that cover an area ranging from 50,000 to 100,000 square meters, five 100,000-plus-square-meter big-box stores, and five community shopping projects of under 30,000 square meters each.

Several businesses are expected to debut in these malls which will open in the second half of this year. The malls include Houhai Harbor, Yanlord Dream Center in Longgang, C Future City in Futian and COMORROW in Shenzhen Super Headquarters Base in Nanshan, among others.
