Dachan Bay Port in western Shenzhen has opened six routes this year and its container throughput reached 813,100 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) between January and May, up by 27.48% year on year, data from Dachan Bay Port Investment and Development Co. Ltd. showed.

The Singaporean container ship Sinar Bangka departed Dachan Bay Port yesterday and is headed southwest to Port Klang in Malaysia. This officially marked the Intra Asia — Bangladesh Thailand Service operation in Shenzhen.

On June 14, the international container ship Dachan Bay Express called at Dachan Bay Port on its voyage along the Hapag-Lloyd-operated new China Germany Express (CGX) service route.

The CGX service route, a two-port loop service providing an efficient and reliable weekly connection between Dachan Bay and Hamburg, offers shippers intermodal capabilities to tap into the Pearl River Delta and central and eastern European markets. It offers the fastest transit time of 27 days, and it also shows Dachan Bay’s strategic significance following the city’s effort to build a core marine hub of world bay areas.
