The Shenzhen Center for Design has released a notice of turning Chuangye Road in Bao’an District into a “Business Boulevard” and started to publicly solicit design plans worldwide, Shenzhen Economic Daily reported yesterday.

According to the notice, it is hoped that a “Business Boulevard” representing Bao’an’s prosperity and innovation will be built along Chuangye Road based on the thriving advanced manufacturing and commercial industries along and around the road.

The boulevard will take Chuangye Road as the axis to explore the innovative integration of intelligent manufacturing and modern service industries in the urban space, to create a demonstration urban area where industry, urban life and ecology integrate perfectly, and to drive the development of surrounding areas.

The land area for overall planning and research covers about 13.4 square kilometers, stretching from Haixiu Road in the southwest to Liuxian Third Road in the northeast, and the belt area of about 1-1.5 kilometers on both sides of Chuangye Road.

The land area for core design covers about 5.3 square kilometers, stretching from Xinhu Road in the southwest to Liuxian Third Road in the northeast, and the belt area of about 500 meters on both sides of Chuangye Road including Lingzhi Park, Xin’an Park, Xin’an Square, Xinzhen River Ecological Corridor and many old communities and factories that require renovations.

This international consultation will prioritize business and industrial planning, public space construction, integration of new and old urban areas, and traffic optimization.

A panel of judges will review and rank the submitted design schemes, and five shortlisted applicants will receive awards.
