The ninth batch of products under the Shenzhen Standard program including 125 goods from 56 companies were unveiled during an event Tuesday, according to Shenzhen Special Zone Daily.

The 125 products cover 19 categories, and its production bases are located in 16 provinces.

At the same time, grocery chain Qiandama started selling products under the Shenzhen Standard program at its 600-plus physical stores across the city Tuesday.

Staffers from the Shenzhen Administration for Market Regulation said the sales of these recognized products at Qiandama marked the products’ sales channels’ expansion. At present, products under the Shenzhen Standard are sold in over 1,000 stores citywide.

As of now, a total of 692 products were included in the Shenzhen Standard program, covering 24 categories such as vegetables, fruits and livestock.

The program is the city’s efforts to ensure food safety as well as a key measure to build Shenzhen into a demonstration city for poverty alleviation through consumption, the report said.

The number of products under the program saw a steady growth since its launch in 2019. Consumers can now purchase these products at large supermarkets such as Hema, Rainbow, Vanguard, Walmart, Carrefour, METRO and AEON.
