The 2022 China (Shenzhen) Carbon Neutral International Expo (SCNE) is scheduled to be held between Dec. 8 and 10 at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center in Bao’an District, Shenzhen Special Zone Daily reported yesterday.

The event is expected to be the first professional exhibition focusing on carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, and the first carbon-free expo in China.

In 2020, President Xi Jinping announced that China will strive to have CO2 emissions peak before 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality before 2060, which is also known as China’s “dual carbon” goal.

Chen Qiong, director of SCNE’s organizing committee, said that the expo aims to present critical elements to achieve “dual carbon goals,” explore new industry models with Shenzhen’s characteristics for carbon peak and carbon neutrality, and constantly enhance the domestic and international heft of the city’s work in reaching these targets.

SCNE will match pairs of exhibitors and professional visitors in four major areas, namely new energy supply chain, new energy vehicles, carbon emission-related technology and carbon emission trading system.

The organizing committee will also launch a series of side events, such as policy interpretation, and build a professional service team to assist exhibitors and professional visitors.
