The district set out the vision in its implementation plan for accelerating the construction of the Shatoujiao Shenzhen-Hong Kong International Tourism Consumption Cooperation Zone (2022-2025), which was released Tuesday, Shenzhen Evening News reported.

The cooperation zone, covering an area of about 26 square kilometers, features Shatoujiao area (including Zhongying Street) as the core area, and Yantian port, seafood street, Dameisha, Xiaomeisha and OCT East as the expansion area.

By 2025, the cooperation zone will have over 5 million square meters of available industrial space, create 50,000 new job opportunities, increase tourist numbers by over 10 million annually and form a tourism consumption industrial cluster with an output of 100 billion yuan (US$14.6 billion).

Additionally, Yantian has proposed five major projects to advance the cooperation zone’s construction, which cover basic infrastructure connectivity, resource gathering, mechanism and rule connectivity, cultural and tourism brands, and new-type business and trade projects.
