The exchange meeting was jointly hosted by the Shenzhen Municipal Commerce Bureau and the Consulate-General of Japan in Guangzhou.

Shenzhen has been devoted to creating a sound business environment to continuously attract more foreign investments. Nearly 6,000 foreign-invested enterprises were established in Shenzhen last year, up 30% year on year, Shenzhen Economic Daily reported.

The actual use of foreign capital surpassed US$10 billion in 2021, hitting a record high.

At present, Shenzhen is home to companies established by investors from over 160 countries and regions, including nearly 300 of the world’s top 500 companies. Accumulatively, Shenzhen has approved over 100,000 projects for direct foreign investments.

As of September, Shenzhen had recognized the third batch of 43 multinational corporation headquarters — including Walmart, Kareway Health and FEELM — which received a maximum subsidy of 6 million yuan (US$0.83 million) each.

Staffers from the Shenzhen Municipal Commerce Bureau said that the city will further provide foreign investors more convenience, strengthen the protection of their rights and interests, and better serve foreign-funded enterprises in Shenzhen.
