City's trade with Germany hits ¥63.2B

The city’s trade with Germany reached 63.2 billion yuan (US$8.79 billion) in the first three quarters this year, up by 13.8% year on year, data from Shenzhen Customs showed Friday, accounting for 23% of the city’s total trade with the European Union (EU).

Germany has become Shenzhen’s largest trading partner among EU countries.

The city’s exports to Germany reached 44.8 billion yuan from January to September, up by 21.1% year on year. The exports are mainly electrical and mechanical products, including electrical equipment and components. Exports of electrical and mechanical products reached 35.4 billion yuan, accounting for 79% of the city’s total trade with Germany in the first nine months.

In terms of imports, medical and pharmaceutical products, medical equipment and devices, and integrated circuits reached 2.58 billion yuan, 920 million yuan and 2.12 billion yuan, respectively, from January to September, up by 14.6%, 27.3% and 9.5% year on year.
