As a foreign trade powerhouse, Shenzhen presented its business environment at an international cooperation forum and investment promotion meeting at the China International Import Expo (CIIE) on Sunday, showing the resilience and vitality of the city’s importers and exporters to global investors, Shenzhen Economic Daily reported.

Shenzhen will keep improving its innovation ecosystem to help its market entities grow and prosper. It will also actively leverage domestic and overseas markets to make the city a top choice for global innovation, entrepreneurship and investment, according to the Shenzhen delegation to the CIIE.

Entrepreneurs from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Yangtze River Delta held in-depth talks over business environments and high-quality economic development at a forum in Sunday’s event.

Two roundtable discussions focused on Chinese enterprises’ new industrial ecosystem in the internationalization process.

According to the Shenzhen delegation, the event was not only conducive to helping Shenzhen businesses tap into the global market and promote international cooperation, but also helpful in attracting good companies from the Yangtze River Delta and from home and abroad to invest in Shenzhen.

A set of figures can demonstrate Shenzhen’s charm and strong economic momentum.

Shenzhen’s imports and exports of goods hit 2.61 trillion yuan (US$360.7 billion) in the first three quarters of this year, up by 3.9% year on year. Exports of goods grew by 12.9% to reach 1.53 trillion yuan, official data showed.

The city’s actual use of foreign capital exceeded US$7.2 billion during the January-August period, growing over 14% year on year, according to statistics.

At present, Shenzhen has gathered enterprises from over 160 countries and regions, including nearly 300 Fortune Global 500 companies.
