Firms in fashion sector to go digital

Shenzhen will implement digital transformation among over 480 enterprises in the fashion industry and cultivate a batch of benchmark enterprises in digital transformation by 2025, according to an action plan released by the Shenzhen Municipal Industry and Information Technology Bureau.

The number of enterprises implementing digital transformation will cover more than half of the enterprises at and above the designated scale in industrial clusters. Over 2,000 enterprise in the fashion industry will be empowered with digital, cloud and intelligent services and more than 3,000 people in the industry will undergo training in digital technology applications.

The bureau will give guidance for the establishment of the digital transformation center for the fashion industry, which will provide diagnosis and solutions to address problems related to digital transformation through cloud computing and IoT technologies.

The city will enhance digital services such as setting up an industrial design digital center, and online streaming exhibition and sales centers.

The sector’s digital applications will enable the gold and jewelry industrial chain to become more intelligent, bureau officials said. Data integration and analysis, as well as consumer data, will allow enterprises to work out personalized and customized production plans to target specific and diversified consumption demands. In the watch industry, intelligent production lines and testing technologies will improve production quality and efficiency, the officials said.
