Luohu to hand out ¥10M vouchers

Luohu District will hand out a total of 10 million yuan (US$1.47 million) in digital red envelopes to families or relatives living separately in Shenzhen and Hong Kong, as well as Hong Kong visitors through a lottery system to boost integration between the two cities and cross-border consumption.

The event will begin Saturday and will have two categories. One category targets families or relatives living separately in the two cities, with digital red envelopes each containing 999 yuan to be given out to 999 lottery winners when spending at designated hotels in Luohu District. This category’s digital envelopes will be given out in two rounds. Registration for the first round will start from 10 a.m. Feb. 11 and end at 12 p.m. Feb. 16. Registration for the second round will be available from 10 a.m. March 8 to 12 p.m. March 13. Registration can be made via the WeChat miniprogram “数币欢乐购.”

Lottery winners for the first and second rounds will be unveiled Feb. 17 and March 14, respectively. The validity of the first round of red envelopes is from the date of the receipt to 11:59 p.m. March 6. For the second round, it will be from the date of the receipt to 11:59 p.m. March 31.

The second category targets Hong Kong visitors to the city. Under this category, Hong Kong visitors will each receive consumption vouchers worth of 200 yuan when they open a digital currency card. The consumption vouchers can be used in five business areas in Dongmen, Caiwuwei, Sungang, Shuibei and Renmin South. With the vouchers, consumers can get two 20% discounts with a maximum discount of 100 yuan per transaction.
