Dance ‘The Goddess of Luo’

The Zhengzhou Song and Dance Theater from Henan will present “The Goddess of Luo” inspired by ancient Chinese poet Cao Zhi’s well-known pieces “The Ode to the Goddess of Luo” and “Seven-step Poem.”

Musical ‘Next to Normal’

The Chinese version of the U.S. rock musical “Next to Normal” (2008) will be staged. The story centers on a mother who struggles with a worsening bipolar disorder and the effects that managing her illness has on her family. The musical addresses grief, depression, suicide, ethics in modern psychiatry, and the underbelly of suburban life.
