GBA flower show set for April 8-17

The 2023 Greater Bay Area (GBA) Flower Show will be held in Shenzhen from April 8 to 17 where citizens can fully embrace the exuberance of springtime, according to information released by the city’s urban management authority Wednesday.

This year’s GBA flower show is themed “Flowers and Dreams” and will be held with its main venue at the Fairy Lake Botanical Garden in Luohu District and subvenue at Xiangmihu Flower Wonderland in Futian District. Azalea is the show’s theme flower.

The total exhibition area will exceed 22,500 square meters, with some 80 exhibitors coming from 13 countries and regions.

The main venue will feature eight exhibition areas to display over 1,000 new flower varieties, nine international gardens designed by horticulturalists from six countries including France, the U.K., South Korea, Japan, Australia and the U.S., and six city gardens showing charms of Shenzhen, Shenshan Special Cooperation Zone, Hong Kong, Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, Guangzhou and Chengdu.

Additionally, over 20 selected garden designs created by university students will be exhibited during the flower show, along with academic forums, nature education and cultural activities.

Visitors can also enjoy beautiful floral installations and flower landscapes at the subvenue. There will be flower stalls to meet citizens’ purchasing needs.
