FIBA 3-player game hits town

On Dec. 18, 16,000 participants reconnected with the city with their steps and got recharged with new vitality. Their cheers reverberated over Shenzhen Bay.

The first Shenzhen X9 Alliance of Universities and Institutes Rowing League around X-Lake Sciensity kicked off Nov. 6. A total of 24 teams composed of academicians, teachers, researchers and studentsfrom Shenzhen University, Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School (Tsinghua SIGS), Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School (PKU Shenzhen), Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen (HITSZ), Georgia Tech Shenzhen Institute, Tianjin University (GTSI), CAS Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology and Peng Cheng Laboratory, participated in the competition. On Nov. 15, Shenzhen University’s (SZU) rowing team was crowned the champion at the finals or the third stage of the race at University Town, after competitions at Dasha River and Maozhou River stations.

Duiu Onofrei has been teaching Qwan Ki Do in the city for five years. Onofrei, a Romanian martial arts instructor and volunteer, came to China because he was fascinated by the country, which is known as the birthplace of martial arts. Onofrei said he dreams to inherit and carry forward the spirit of martial arts, and to encourage more young people to practice martial arts in Shenzhen.

The 2019 Longhua Mini Marathon kicked off on Dec. 8 and was attended by 4,000 runners.
