Shenzhen University

Shenzhen University is a full-time comprehensive university. It was established in 1983 and accredited by the Academic Degree Evaluation Committee of the State Council for doctoral programs in 2006. The university now offers three accredited primary doctoral programs and nine secondary disciplines under its supervision; three centers for postdoctoral studies; one postdoctoral center; 34 accredited primary master's programs and 135 secondary disciplines under its supervision; 10 secondary disciplines; and 13 accredited professional master's programs. The university provides 84 undergraduate programs and 11 disciplines in categories including philosophy, literature, economics, law, pedagogy, science, engineering, management, medicine and history.

Shenzhen University receives about 1,500 overseas students annually. Students can choose Chinese language courses ranging from six months to two years, four-year undergraduate courses, or three-year postgraduate courses.

South University of Science and Technology of China

On Dec. 24, 2010, the Ministry of Education approved the plans for South University of Science and Technology of China. The ministry formally approved the establishment of the university on April 18, 2012. The university, allowed to enroll 8,000 full-time students every year, is under the supervision and management of Guangdong Province. The aim is to build the university into a first-level international research institute and a base to cultivate innovative high-level talents. It now has enrolled 2,095 full-time students.

South University of Science and Technology of China(SUSTC) is a public university founded in the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone of China. It is intended to be a top-tier international university that excels in interdisciplinary research, nurturing innovative talents and delivering new knowledge to the world.​

The campus of SUSTC sits on a scenic stretch of land with winding creeks and wooded hills in the Nanshan (Southern Mountain) district of Shenzhen. The total area is over two square kilometers.

The Chinese University of Hong Kong Shenzhen Campus

On Sept. 28, 2012, the plan for establishing the university was approved by the Ministry of Education. On March 24, 2014, it was officially completed to enroll 11,000 full-time students. The first batch of majors includes marketing, international business and economics. It now has enrolled 912 full-time students.

University Town of Shenzhen

University Town of Shenzhen was jointly established by the Shenzhen Municipal Government and prominent Chinese universities as a teaching and research base to cultivate full-time postgraduates. Famous universities such as Tsinghua University, Peking University and Harbin Institute of Technology have already set up bases there. University Town of Shenzhen has so far enrolled 8,885 full-time students, including 1,222 pursuing doctorates and 7,498 pursuing master’s degrees.
