Hong Kong ABCs (42): Clock Tower

Date: 2017-06-30Writer: Share:

Standing 44 meters tall, the old Clock Tower was erected in 1915 as part of the Kowloon-Canton Railway terminus.

The once-bustling station is long gone, but this red brick and granite tower, now preserved as a declared monument, survives as an elegant reminder of the Age of Steam. (SD-Agencies)

(This section is dedicated to the coming 20th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return and the 20th anniversary of Shenzhen Daily, which fall on the same day — July 1.)
