Opened in 1977, Ocean Park Hong Kong is a marine-life theme park featuring animals, thrill rides and shows. It is located on the southern side of Hong Kong Island, with an area of more than 915,000 square meters. The two major attraction areas, the Waterfront and the Summit, are connected by the Cable Car and Ocean Express funicular train.

It has four roller coasters, and also a variety of themed animal exhibits, such as a giant panda habitat, rainforest and polar displays, as well as an aquarium featuring the world’s largest aquarium dome. Between 1979 and 1997, Ocean Park was most famous for its signature killer whale, Miss Hoi Wai.

(This section is dedicated to the coming 20th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return and the 20th anniversary of Shenzhen Daily, which fall on the same day — July 1.)
