Forty-five Shenzhen companies are in the list of China’s 500 most valuable private companies released by the Hurun Research Institute recently, ranking third in the country.
Shenzhen ranked second among Chinese cities in the market capitalization of its companies listed on China’s stock exchanges in 2021, with 373 firms worth 10.37 trillion yuan (US$1.63 trillion) in total, according to data recently released by Intelligence Research Group, a Chinese consulting firm specializing in industry analysis and market research, Shenzhen Economic Daily reported.
Despite the deep global economic recession brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, Shenzhen companies still invested and established 600 enterprises and institutions overseas in the first 11 months last year, with an actual investment of US$7.129 billion, ranking second in the country, according to the city’s commerce bureau.
A total of 19 Shenzhen enterprises have officially made it onto the list of the sixth batch of national-level champions in individual manufacturing fields, a source from the Shenzhen Municipal Industry and Information Technology Bureau told Shenzhen Daily on Wednesday.
Local enterprises such as Huawei, Tencent and BYD have been ranked among China’s top 100 enterprises in terms of scientific innovation capability, according to a list released at a forum Sunday.
Shenzhen technology firms are showcasing their latest high-tech products at the BEYOND International Technology Innovation Expo at the Venetian Macao Convention and Exhibition Center from Thursday to Saturday.
