Shenzhen artist Zhou Li’s exhibition titles always evoke the essence of her lyrical abstract paintings, from “Lost in Green” at the Guangdong Museum of Art in 2020 to “Tracing Peach Blossom Spring” at the Pingshan Art Museum in 2022 and “Water and Dreams” at Château La Coste in France and the Kerlin Gallery in Ireland in 2022, to name a few.

While local piano fans are still savoring the passionate evening of Oct. 29 when Chinese-Canadian young talent Bruce Liu entertained them with his brilliant interpretations of Chopin, Bach and others, his revered mentor Dang Thai Son will grace Shenzhen Concert Hall this Sunday.

A total of 263 prints created by 264 artists from 46 countries and regions are on display at the Guanlan International Print Biennial Nomination Exhibition running through Jan. 22.

Upcoming performances including musical, dance drama and more will hit the town from Jan. 12 to 14.

Sixteen overseas Chinese artists residing in the U.S., Canada, Venezuela, Brazil and Peru are showcasing their works at the “Sixth Global Overseas Chinese Artists Exhibition” at the He Xiangning Art Museum. In addition, the art museum has also selected a painting by Beijing artist Yu Hong from its collection to display alongside the overseas artworks.

The “Nomads in the South: Rivers, Tunnels, Dampness and Constellations” exhibition at Pingshan Art Museum showcases contemporary artworks created by 101 artists and organizations in Guangdong, Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan, Guizhou, Yunan, Guangxi, Hainan and Chongqing. The exhibition marks the first attempt to explore the contemporary art scenes and culture environments in southern and southwestern China within one single exhibition.

People who engage in physical activities or seek relaxation in Pingshan District Central Park can check out a painting exhibition featuring Pingshan’s landmarks and picturesque landscape at the Pingshan Art Museum’s Park Division inside the park.

More than 100 gongbi paintings created by 62 young Chinese artists are on display at Guan Shanyue Art Museum.

The Guan Shanyue Art Museum, dedicated to collecting, displaying and researching artworks by Guangdong master Guan Shanyue (1912-2000), is currently hosting an exhibition of paintings by Guan and Shandong artist Yu Xining (1913-2007).

Cultural and creative products designed by local companies and designers are on display at “Art & Design Tracks: The Fourth Cultural and Creative Design Exhibition in Shenzhen” at the Guan Shanyue Art Museum.

Over the past 145 years since its debut in 1878, Leo Tolstoy’s opus “Anna Karenina” has been adapted to movies, television series, ballets, operas, musicals, plays and many other forms in different countries and regions across the world, a testament to the literary masterpiece’s unfading popularity. In January 2024, audiences in Shenzhen will have the opportunity to watch in the Pingshan Theater one of the novel’s most successful adaptations — the Russian musical “Anna Karenina.”

Over 200 artifacts, including 173 from seven museums in Pakistan and 30 from the Palace Museum in Beijing, are on display at the newly opened “Gandhara Heritage Along the Silk Road: A Pakistan-China Joint Exhibition” at Shenzhen Museum’s History and Folk Culture Division.
