Piano recital by Richard Clayderman

French pianist Richard Clayderman will present a concert at Shenzhen Concert Hall on Dec. 18.

Born in 1953, Clayderman is known for his interpretation of contemporary music and has established an international career as a best-selling recording artist and concert performer.

Clayderman has released numerous albums including the compositions of Paul de Senneville and Olivier Toussaint, instrumental renditions of popular music, rearrangements of movie sound tracks, ethnic music and easy-listening arrangements of popular works of classical music. Clayderman has created a new romantic style through a repertoire which combines his originals with classics and pop standards.

Since his first performance in China in 1992, Clayderman has won hearts with his elegant style. He has always had a fascination with Chinese music. He has rearranged many Chinese songs into piano pieces, including “A Large River,” “Butterfly Lovers,” “Love Is Like a Tide” and “I Love Beijing Tiananmen.”
