State-of-the-art grand ballroom unveiled at hotel

The Ritz-Carlton, Guangzhou has unveiled its 1,200-square-meter, brand-new, pillarless and state-of-the-art grand ballroom in January. Li Sze-lim, chairman of R&F Properties, Rainer Burkle, area vice president of Marriott International’s China division, Matthias Vogt, general manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Guangzhou, led the ribbon cutting and lion dotting ceremony together.

Almost 400 elite guests, including consuls general and diplomats to Guangzhou, distinguished hotel guests, residents, partners and media friends, attended the grand opening of the prestigious grand ballroom.

This exciting 100-million-yuan project took over 24 months to complete and is definitely the new social icon of Zhujiang New Town. Collectively, The Ritz-Carlton, Guangzhou features more than 3,300 square meters of banquet and event space, making it a paradise for event planners to hold events of all sizes including board meetings, product launches, corporate-wide and social celebrations and other high-profile activities.

Designed by Hong Kong AB Concept International Ltd., the new grand ballroom with a nine-meter-high ceiling is inspired by the concept of an exquisite Chinese ivory ball, and exudes an elegant rhythm of contemporary glamor, boldness and refinement, reflecting qualities through merging architectural technique and interior design sense.

The overall impression for the new grand ballroom is centered on a space that speaks for itself upon guests’ entering, through numerous layers of sophisticated crafting and detail. The lobby and pre-function area introduce a warm welcome and foreword ambience through a combination of layered ivory colored setting with a touch of natural marble and bronze-glazed details equipped with custom lighting, furniture and carpet.
