Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra is the most professional Chinese orchestra in China and even Asia, and plans independent music seasons annually. It has 91 permanent members and 4 instrument groups, i.e., string, plucked string, wind and percussion, including traditional and reformed instruments. As the cultural ambassador of Hong Kong, it is often invited to world-renowned music halls and art festivals around the world, with wide artistic influence. It has produced over 50 audio-visual works, and played accompaniments for award-winning movies, like Warriors of Heaven and Earth and Kung Fu.

Qiuci, a Chinese music work with strong Western style, has perfectly echoed the theme of this music season, “Belt and Road”. Joseph Koo’s pop music is from movies describing China’s Western customs and culture and also echoes the music season’s gist.
