TPO Italy is back in Shenzhen and this time with their latest sensational work about the place where we live, the panda’s hometown — China.

“Panda’s Home” is an interactive performance aimed at children aged 4 and up. Following the footprints of a giant panda, dancers and children travel together to start an imaginary journey exploring the beauty of natural landscape, the harmony in traditional music, the interaction and relation between things and phenomena as well as the composition of nature.

Filled with colorful visuals and interactive sensory stage settings, two dancers will lead children in experiencing a feast of Chinese culture and stories — from running through a bamboo forest, chasing folklore’s “Nian monsters” with firecrackers, weaving silk in the garden, to flying kites, or even dancing through a river of Chinese ink painting and calligraphy.

The Italian company TPO has been creating children’s visual theater since its establishment in 1983. The work of TPO is a collaborative effort of a multi-talented and close-knit team of authors from various disciplines of the visual and performing arts. Thanks to the use of interactive technologies, every show is transformed into a “sensitive” environment where the thin border between art and play can be experienced. Dancers, performers and the audience itself interact with each other exploring new expressive forms that go beyond language and cultural barriers.

TPO has taken part in numerous prestigious festivals worldwide, including art festivals organized by the International Association for Theater of Children and Young People, Australian Fun for Kids Children’s Festival, Okinawa International Arts Festival for Children and Young People and Taipei Children’s Arts Festival.

“Panda’s Home” includes a 60-minute stage performance and a 30-minute workshop.
