Bolshoy to play classical guitar| June 3

Canadian guitarist Daniel Bolshoy will perform classical guitar pieces in Nanshan in early June.

 

 

Bolshoy is regularly praised for his progressive programing of solo and chamber music. His concert tours take him from prestigious international concert stages to remote villages and house concerts.

 

He has been invited to participate as a jury member in several international music competitions, including the Guitar-Gems festival in Israel, the Tabula Rasa festival in Russia, and the National Finals of the Canadian Federation of Music Festivals.

 

Bolshoy has recently been appointed to the position of head of the guitar division at the University of British Columbia School of Music. He is also the head of the guitar department at the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra School of Music. His students have won awards in competitions and scholarships to leading universities and conservatories, including the top two awards in Canadian Music Festival competitions, in 2008 and 2009.
