Runners revel in Shenzhen Marathon

​With a new route that spanned several districts of the city, the HONOR•Shenzhen Marathon 2022 that kicked off this morning brought fun and fulfillment to 20,000 runners who took part in the event.

Main construction begins on SZ section of SZ-Jiangmen rail

The main construction on the Shenzhen section of Shenzhen-Jiangmen High-speed Railway began Thursday as the first pile foundation was driven into the ground. The 116-kilometer railway, being built by the Construction Engineering Co. of CTCE Group, begins at Xili in Shenzhen and passes through Dongguan, Guangzhou and Zhongshan before ending in Jiangmen City in Guangdong Province. Upon completion in 2028, the rail will help further facilitate travels for people in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Shenzhen volunteers embark on rescue mission in Türkiye

Shenzhen Rescue Volunteers Federation sent a six-member advance unit today to join a non-governmental team from China to aid the rescue operation in Türkiye, where powerful earthquakes hit Monday. Sülooğlu Süleyman, a Turkish soccer coach living in Shenzhen, is one of the members who left Shenzhen this afternoon on the rescue mission. Other five members, Chen Yuan, Yang Chao, Yang Chuanqi, Chen Tao and Dai Wei, are all experienced in earthquake rescue.

Futian mangrove, a significant wetland

Shenzhen's Futian mangrove was among the 18 wetlands in China that were designated in 2022 as Wetlands of International Importance under the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands, the National Forestry and Grassland Administration announced Feb. 2 on the occasion of the 27th World Wetlands Day, in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province.
