Videos by expats show the charm of GBA

Focusing on various themes ranging from special delicacies, modern infrastructure to beautiful scenery, a total of 26 selected works for the Expats Eye GBA Short Video Contest presents the enchantment of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), which wowed audiences at the award ceremony held Saturday at the Shenzhen Book City CBD Store in Futian District.

2023 Spring Festival Flower Fair to open Sunday

Shenzhen's 2023 Spring Festival Flower Fair at its main venue in Gangxia, Futian District, yesterday. The fair, a traditional event that spices up the festive atmosphere of the Chinese New Year, will run from Sunday to Jan. 21. It will have 10 subvenues and a number of scattered flower markets across the city, with a total of 2,900 flower stalls. Shoppers can buy not only flowers but also Chinese New Year decorations.

UABB Longhua subvenue opens

The Longhua subvenue of the ninth Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism\Architecture (UABB) opened Saturday to the public. Themed "Between Warp and Weft" and set in an idled factory in Dalang Fashion Town, the subvenue presents a total of 18 works that were made by architects, designers, artists and institutions from home and abroad. Visitors can also encounter some other installations on the walls of the factory as well as around the fashion town area. During the exhibition period through March 30, more than 10 related events such as workshops, screenings and forums will be held.

Shenzhen, a haven for birds

Shenzhen is an important stopover of the winter birds' East Asia-Australia migratory route, which is among the nine major flyways for bird migration. From October to April, a peak season for migrant birds in Shenzhen, is a good time for birdwatching since there are more than 200 species of resident birds that can be admired in the city, according to official data.

The train D376 to Lianyungang left Shenzhen North Railway Station at 6:27 a.m. today, marking the start of the 40-day Spring Festival transport season. On the first day, the station estimates to handle 108,000 passengers.
