Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts, part of Marriott International, recently announced the opening of Le Méridien Huizhou, marking the brand's first hotel in Guangdong Province.
Overlooking the picturesque blue waters of the South China Sea, Le Méridien Huizhou joins a growing portfolio of 12 Le Méridien hotels in China. With over 20 hotels under construction, the brand is on track to double its presence by 2020 in China's gateway cities such as Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Shenyang, Leshan and Xiamen.

"Le Méridien brand offers all the comfort that guests are looking for in an upscale hotel, with an extra touch on design and experience that allows guests to engage and be immersed in local cultures," said Duke Nam, vice president for operations in South China of Marriott International.
"We are very excited to debut Le Méridien Huizhou in Guangdong as the brand's first hotel in the province," said Colin Vickers, general manager of Le Méridien Huizhou. “We look forward to offering our guests a glimpse of Huizhou and its diverse culture and nature."
Located on the beachfront of Xiaojing Bay, Le Méridien Huizhou is ideally situated on a 2-kilometer uninterrupted platinum—white sandy beach in the subtropical oceanic climate. Thoughtfully designed as a gateway to discover both ancient and modern China, the hotel features 297 well-appointed guestrooms and suites: each room featuring a private balcony with stunning ocean views.
Le Méridien Huizhou also features the brand's signature Le Méridien Hub, which reinterprets the traditional hotel lobby as a social gathering place. Set amidst this mid-century modern design, Le Méridien provides signature éclairs, light bites and illy coffee, creating an experience that brings creative and curious-minded guests and locals together.

For compelling culinary experiences, guests can indulge in the hotel's three distinctive venues, including Latest Recipe, predominately an à-la-carte restaurant reminiscent of a French Brasserie with signature dishes and international breakfast buffets; Latitude 22, a vibrant gathering place; and Le Mei, a specialty restaurant serving contemporary Chinese dishes thoughtfully blended with local Huizhou flavors and Cantonese tastes.
For stimulating meetings and timeless functions, Le Méridien Huizhou offers 2,268 square meters of versatile event space. A wide expanse of outdoor gardens and beaches are also available for multidimensional events.
To unwind, leisure facilities include an outdoor pool, 20-meter heated indoor lap pool, jogging path, fitness center, sauna and spa. For those on a family vacation, Le Méridien Huizhou provides a perfect escape for all ages. As part of Le Méridien Family, the brand's signature family program that caters to the growing global demand for family travel, children can partake in hours of active discovery at Le Méridien Family Kids Club, featuring indoor and outdoor activity centers and a dedicated outdoor children's swimming pool. Guests can also engage in a variety of water sports, including jet skiing, waterskiing, windsurfing, fishing and boating.
Other areas of interests in Huidong County include Xunliao Bay, Tiechong Oyster Farm, the Turtle Protection Zone and Pinghai Ancient City, which dates back more than 600 years to the Ming Dynasty.
Le Méridien Huizhou is part of the Park Lane Harbor complex of China Resources Company, which hosts a shopping area, restaurants, a cinema and apartments. The Huizhou Daya Bay Economic & Technology Development Zone is just 8 kilometers away, while South Huizhou High-speed Railway Station and Huizhou Pingtan Airport are 25 kilometers and 45 kilometers away, respectively.
