Lion dance competition

Fifteen lion dance teams will compete against each other and the winner will be crowned the “Lion King” tomorrow. It is a traditional event where lion dance teams showcase their skills and involve elaborate and acrobatic lion dance performances, with teams demonstrating their agility, synchronicity and creativity in choreography. The event is not only a display of cultural heritage, but also a lively and festive celebration.

Time: 2-5:30 p.m. (competition), 4-9 p.m. (workshop), 7-9 p.m. (gala), June 22

Venue: One Avenue, Futian District (卓悦中心)

Light shows

After a three-year renovation, Guanlan Old Market in Longhua District, one of the four historical markets in Shenzhen from the 18th to the early 20th centuries, has been a popular place for inheriting the city’s history and culture. One can not only wander in the old alleys and under the arcades while feeling the vitality of various cultural product shops, but can also enjoy stunning light shows projected on the facades of the old buildings as night falls, in an immersion to a dazzling world of the old and new.

Time: 7:30-9 p.m., every night until June 30
