Songzikeng forest park straddling Longgang and Pingshan districts will cover about 1,744 hectares, with climbing steps and hiking trails to be built inside, according to the park's plan recently unveiled by the Shenzhen Municipal Planning and Natural Resources Bureau.
In Longgang District, the construction of hiking trails with a total length of 88 kilometers is in full swing. Upon completion, citizens can enjoy ecological spaces with views of mountains, water and the district's central areas, according to the Longgang District Urban Administration and Law Enforcement Bureau.
The first hiking trail in Shenshan Special Cooperation Zone was completed recently, prompting hiking enthusiasts to go check it out, Nanfang Plus reported.
Eight new parks in Guangming District have recently opened their doors to visitors.
Longgang is inviting volunteers to work on building handmade hiking trails that are suitable for family hiking, sources from Longgang's urban management authority said.
