Cross-border high-speed rail service resumes

Bullet train G5820 from Hong Kong arrived at Shenzhen North Railway Station at around 7:22 a.m. today after an 18-minute trip, becoming the first train to Shenzhen as the high-speed railway connecting the mainland and Hong Kong resumed operation after nearly three years of suspension due to the pandemic.

2023 Spring Festival Flower Fair to open Sunday

Shenzhen's 2023 Spring Festival Flower Fair at its main venue in Gangxia, Futian District, yesterday. The fair, a traditional event that spices up the festive atmosphere of the Chinese New Year, will run from Sunday to Jan. 21. It will have 10 subvenues and a number of scattered flower markets across the city, with a total of 2,900 flower stalls. Shoppers can buy not only flowers but also Chinese New Year decorations.

The 16th Shenzhen International Financial Expo (Shenzhen Finexpo), which opened this morning, gathered more than 2,200 exhibitors including local banks and financial institutions to showcase more than 200 latest achievements of the financial industry.

Spring Festival travel rush starts

The train D376 to Lianyungang left Shenzhen North Railway Station at 6:27 a.m. today, marking the start of the 40-day Spring Festival transport season. On the first day, the station estimates to handle 108,000 passengers.

SZ-Zhongshan Bridge makes progress

Another major progress was made on the construction of the 24-kilometer Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge on Wednesday, with the final box grider for the non-navigable span section being completed. The bridge will open to traffic in 2024, Guangdong Transport Group announced Thursday.
