New Orleans Kitchen, located in Huanggang Village in Futian District, has opened its door to diners. It is said to be the only restaurant in Guangdong Province serving authentic New Orleans Cajun and Creole food.
Cajun meat pies are filled with spicy beef and New Orleans flavors.
Owned and operated by David Garzotto, a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, the United States, the restaurant serves a variety of classic Cajun dishes including jambalaya, gumbo and New Orleans Po-boy style sandwiches.
Dishes are prepared using traditional Cajun recipes customized by former Hilton sous executive chef, Damon Edwards.

“Since moving here 11 years ago, I’ve noticed similarities between spicy Chinese food and Louisiana food created by Cajun-French people in Louisiana hundreds of years ago,” said Garzotto. “We both certainly share a love for crawfish dishes, which have been a staple of our hometown food for a long time.”
New Orleans is the birthplace of jazz music and the restaurant features a Louis Armstrong statue in the front room as well as a private dining room for 16 guests dedicated to Louis Armstrong and jazz music. (SD News)
