Shenzhen tops country in industrial scale, added value

The industrial added value in Shenzhen surpassed 1.1 trillion yuan (US$162.16 billion) in 2022, ranking first among Chinese cities.

In terms of industrial scale, the total industrial output of enterprises at and above the designated scale exceeded 4.5 trillion yuan in 2022, ranking first for four straight years among Chinese cities.

The added value of industrial enterprises at and above the designated scale increased by 4.8% year on year in 2022 and exceeded 1 trillion yuan for the first time.

The growth rate was higher than the provincial and national average, data released by the Shenzhen Municipal Industry and Information Technology Bureau showed yesterday.

Among the industries, the added value of the auto manufacturing went up by 104.5%, petroleum and gas exploration up by 13.6% and special equipment manufacturing up by 4.8%.

In 2022, Shenzhen planned and constructed 20 industrial parks for advanced manufacturing and implemented a construction plan to ensure the availability of spaces for industrial development.

The city gave priority to the development of industrial clusters and promoted high-end, intelligent and the green development of the manufacturing industry. Four industrial clusters including the one for next-generation information telecom have been included on the list for the national advanced manufacturing industrial clusters.

The city's industrial investments hit a new record of 160 billion yuan in 2022, up 19.2% year on year.
